Susan    says    she    loves    traditional    hand    quilting    and    needle    turn    applique,    but embraces innovative machine techniques and started making art quilts in 2005. Patricia Harrison of Ocean Waves Quilting Company, Rhode Island, 2017 QuiltFest Judge Teacher, Lector, Longarm Quilter, and Designer, GVQF 2015 Teacher, Lector, and Judge. Sewing   since   7th   grade,   Pat   says   she   discovered   how   wonderfully   extensive   the   world of   quilting   was   in   1993   and   began   taking   classes   and   joining   guilds.         Although   a   high school   Home   Economics   teacher,      her   husband   suggested   that   she   needed   a   summer   job   when   her   daughter went   to   college   (RIT,   Rochester,   NY).      She   developed   her   longarm   quilting   skills   and   became   the   first longarm   quilter   in   the   State   of   Rhode   Island.      In   2008   she   became   interested   in   Judging   and   became   a   NQA Certified Quilt Judge and in 2011 qualified to judge Masterpiece quilts. Kathryn   has   been   quilting   over   30   years.      Although   her   grandmother   introduced   her   to quilting   and   needlework,   it   was   a   town   sesquicentennial   celebration   in   1978   that began   her   serious   quilting   adventure.   Helping   to   design   and   create   a   quilt   for   this   successful   celebration began her lifelong interest in quilting. Eugenia   has   been   on   the   travel   circuit   since   1979   and   has   worked   in   all   of   the   U.S. states as well as the Caribbean, Canada, and South Africa.   About Eugenia Barnes: o Appraiser certified by AQS, one of the first five certified nationally.  o As one of the first five certified AQS Certified Appraisers, she served on the Certification Committee for eleven years helping to design the Code of Ethics, Policies and Procedures, Standard Form and taught the Appraiser Training Course.  o She is often credited in technical books as a teacher and mentor and is recognized for her knowledge of techniques, design, special relationship, color, as well as the overall view of a quilt of any style. o Listed in “Who’s Who In American Quilting.” Judy Holmes Reed, Greece, NY Quilter, sample maker, pattern designer. Judy   learned   to   sew   for   her   dolls   at   age   7,   making   all   her   own   clothes   and   then clothes   for   her   two   sons.      When   her   oldest   child,   Paul,   was   moving   from   a   crib   to   a “big   boy   bed,”   she   made   her   first   quilt   for   him   and   fell   in   love   with   the   process.   Judy says   she   loves   traditional   patterns,   piecing   and   hand   quilting.      She   is   still   improving needle turn applique skills.
