QUILT SHOW ENTRY INFORMATION

Quiltfest 2022 welcomes quilts from Genesee Valley Quilt Club members and non-members. Entrants are limited to a total of five (5) quilts per person. Exclusions include the Traditional to Modern Challenge quilt entries and Award Winning/Published quilts (by invitation) for GVQC members.

Quilt Entry Categories

PJ - Professionally Judged Entries Open to GVQC members and non-members Entry fee: $15 per quilt for GVQC members, $20 per quilt for non-members Submitting quilter chooses which quilt category to enter, but judges may change a quilt’s category Judged by experienced judges; each quilt receives a written critique Eligible for monetary awards and ribbons (See Prizes and Awards below) M - GVQC Club Member Entries Open to GVQC members only No entry fee Submitting quilter determines which quilt category to enter Eligible for ribbons (except Traditional to Modern Challenge quilts (See Prizes and Awards below) Judged by selected GVQC members (except Traditional to Modern Challenge quilts); no written critique Youth category open to youths up to age 16 with a GVQC member sponsor; quilts not judged No size requirement (except Traditional to Modern Challenge quilts)

Honors GVQC’s 85th (+1) Anniversary Single member or group of members may submit one or a set of two quilts Quilts consist of one or more blocks of a traditional style or a modern interpretation of traditional block, but not a mixture Eligible block styles to choose from: Basket, Bow Tie, Card Trick, Diamond in a Square, Dresden Plate/Fan, Drunkard’s Path, Flying Geese, Grandmother’s Flower Garden, Log Cabin, New York Beauty, Nine Patch, Snail’s Trail, Star, Sunbonnet Sue, Tumbling Block Size: 36” x 36” No prizes, no ribbons. Quilt Entry

Quilt entries will be accepted January 1 - March 10, 2022 on a first come, first serve basis, and at the discretion of GVQC QuiltFest. All quilts must have been completed AFTER January 1, 2017. No quilt may have been exhibited at any prior GVQC quilt show. Kits and published patterns are allowed in all categories except Art Quilts. Credit must be given on the entry form. Enter online or by mail. A separate entry form is required for each quilt. Beginning January 1, 2022, the online entry will be available on this web page. GVQC members may also enter online at the January, February, and March 2022 club meetings (help will be available) Beginning January 1, 2022, the print entry form will be available on this web page. Complete the form and mail it to the address on the form in time to be received by March 10, 2022. Checks for professionally judged quilt entries should be made payable to GVQC QuiltFest .
