Janice
Kagenski
began
sewing
clothing
at
the
age
of
10,
but
fell
in
love
with
quilting
in
1982
after
seeing
all
the
beautiful
quilts
at
the
New
York
State
Fair.
With
a
degree
in
Computer
Science
from
Rochester
Institute
of
Technology
and
a
job
in
the
Computer
Aided
Design
and
Drafting
industry,
she
knew
that
computerized
longarm
quilting
would
be
in
her
future.
She
purchased
a
Gammill
longarm
machine
in
2007
and
computerized
it
with
an
Intelliquilter
in
2011.
Computerized
quilting
gives
her
the
precision
she
desires
and
allows
her
to
create
an
entire
quilt
from
start
to
finish.
She
enjoys
creating
new
quilting
designs
for
the
Intelliquilter.
Her
digital
patterns
in
a
ZIP
file
of
various
file
extensions
are
available
from
Intelligent
Quilting. She loves to help others with their quilting endeavors.

IQ-1: Pantograph Essentials, Friday, May 20, 2022, 9 AM - 12 PM

Learn
the
many
ways
to
use
your
Intelliquilter
to
set
up
pantographs.
Discover
the
ins
and
outs
of
successfully
creating
a
pantograph
that
fits
the
quilt
and
takes
advantage
of
IQ’s
flipping,
clip
on/off,
skew,
shift,
and
offset
features,
including
progressive
offset.
Also
learn
how
to
modify
a
pantograph
after
setup
is
complete,
including
adding
width
or
length
to
the
pantograph.
If
time
permits,
adjusting
a
pantograph
during
stitching
with
clip
or
tweak
will
be
discussed.
This
is
a
hands-on class where students will follow along using the IQ tablet or StiQ.

various
methods
of
border
design
on
the
IQ
using
Repeat
Pattern,
Path
Pattern,
Line
Pattern,
and
even
pantographs.
Size
the
borders
to
fit
the
ideal
quilt,
then
learn
how
to
make
them
fit
the
actual
quilt
and
stitch
them
without
turning
the
quilt.
This
is
a
hands-on
class
where students will follow along using the IQ tablet or StiQ.

zones
in
a
variety
of
situations
including
no-sew
zones
inside
pantographs,
no-sew
zones
with
background
fills,
and
no-sew
zones
larger
than
the
available
quilting
space.
Techniques
for
dealing
with
fabric
draw-up
and
minimizing
transitions
at
the
no-sew
zone
will
be
discussed.
This
is
a
hands-on
class
where
students
will
follow
along
using the IQ tablet or StiQ.
